The gauva tree in backyard n she..
Onlooking the trends of time together
As if been used n forgotten is destined to be..
Left behind unnoticed now,
Once laden with juicy fruits..
Hollow n brittle shafts,
Which once held swings of impish pranks..
Parrots n cuckoo nesting n cooing,
Nibbled fruit n flew away without bidding thanks...
Itched n bled by names of me n my comrades ,
Deals made in return of gauva ..
the tree stood tall..
witnessed the barter..
Frolicking beneath in shade,
we grew older n tree grew falter..
Mother too nurtured me n my fellows,
With splendid love, delicacies n served laughter..
Sharing with us, the tales of her times,
When tamarind, candies were bought in exchange of dimes,
Giving her all,While she was in primes..
Now, left alone with memories ,
Sitting n waiting hopelessly under the shade,
And letting the years passed,
As echoes of laughter get fade..
